The National Crop Protection Center hosted the 5th session of the Basic Training Course on Agricultural Crop Production: Online Course for ATI-FYIP-Taiwan on 16 June 2021 via Zoom.

Forty-nine participants from 16 regions attended the online event. The training course was conducted to prepare the participants for their internship in Taiwan.

Ms. Maureen Ceres dL. de Roxas, University Researcher, served as the resource person for the topic Identification and Management of Insect Pests in Crucifers.

During her talk, Ms. de Roxas provided information about major insect pests of crucifers. She also discussed the nature of damage caused by the insect pests and the management strategies that can be used for each pest. A short quiz was conducted  via mentimeter to assess the learnings of the participants.

The Basic Training Course for Agricultural Crop Production was conducted by the College of Agriculture and Food Science on 14, 15, 16, 18, and 21 June 2021.

Prior sessions of the course featured discussions on the following topics: The Role of Soil pH on Crop Nutrition and Soil Remediation; Land Preparation, Soil Health, and Quality; Seed Storage and Saving; and Vegetable Production and Management Systems.
