Biography
Michelle S. Guerrero is a graduate of BS Agriculture (Entomology) and MS Entomology (Insect Genetics) at UPLB. She became a research associate dealing with DNA Barcoding and genetic diversity analysis at UPLB in 2014. She joined NCPC in 2016. Within her years at NCPC, she obtained study and project leadership with research focusing on molecular entomology and insect pathology. Her research on molecular entomology includes DNA barcoding, molecular diagnostics, and genetic diversity analysis. She also conducted research in insect pathology dealing with entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) and nucleopolyhedrovirus (NPV) for the management of insect pests. She received numerous international trainings on integrated pest management (IPM). She is the current head of the molecular laboratory at NCPC. Ms. Guerrero pursued a PhD in Ecology at Massey University, New Zealand, under the New Zealand Scholarship and is set to graduate in 2024. Her PhD research centered on entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) diversity and their associated invertebrate hosts, showcasing her dedication and expertise in the fields of crop protection and Entomology.
