More than thirty agriculturists, educators, and crop protection practitioners from the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office (DA-RFO), Department of Agriculture – Regional Crop Protection Center (DA-RCPC), Technical Education, and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and private industries participated in a training organized by the National Crop Protection Center (NCPC). The training, titled “Refresher Course: Identification and Management of Pests and Diseases in Cereal Crops, Vegetables, and Mango in the Philippines,” was held virtually in the second week of June, while the hands-on activities and tour took place on June 18. During the field tour, participants practiced collecting and identifying insects, weeds, and plants with disease. Additionally, they toured various facilities at the NCPC, including the Plant Health Clinic, Precision Crop Protection Laboratory, Mycology Laboratory, Biological Control – Insect Rearing Laboratory, Trichogramma Laboratory, and Molecular Laboratory.
