The National Crop Protection Center (NCPC) conducted a review of its core-funded projects on Jan. 16-19. During the review, the Center’s research and extension personnel presented the status of their respective projects by discussing the activities they have conducted. They also presented the highlights of their accomplishments and described the problems they have encountered.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Barbara L. Caoili, NCPC director, explained that the activity is a system for the Center to monitor its core-funded projects, track outputs and outcomes, and identify which projects may be submitted for external funding.

Dr. Elpidio M. Agbisit, Jr., CAFS dean, commended the Center for the conduct of the activity. “This is a good way for you to review your projects and check how you are doing in relation to your mandate as the National Crop Protection Center,” he said.

Serving as technical reviewers during the project review were former NCPC researchers Dr. Rizaldo G. Bayot, Scientist Mario V. Navasero, and Dr. Amelia W. Tejada. The reviewers offered their insights and recommendations to improve the projects and address some of the problems that were encountered during project implementation.
